Feedback Strategies

Image
Be a Mirror This article was very interesting to read and provided a pretty good explanation on how to go about giving proper feedback. It definitely helps if you focus on what the person is already doing well. Help support and provide them with compliments on what they are already doing well instead of only focusing on the bad. Try Feedforward instead of Feedback This provided a very good outlook on how to approach giving someone positive feedback. Instead of focusing on all their current information and focusing on their negative things, provide them with solutions or ideas to make their story better for the future. Point them in the right direction moving forward instead of only focusing on the things they already have. Feedback

Ravana BREAKING NEWS Reporter: This just in, we have inside information from someone who has been overseeing the past events that have lead to a lot of destruction over the years. I have word that we will be able to hear from the god himself, Brahma. Brahma, what started all of this ruckus? Brahma: It all started when a boy called Ravana was born. When he grew up, he petitioned to me to be invincible. I agreed to give him immortal nectar except to humans. Ravana then grew up and met a person named Shiva who he found interest in and became a follower. Ravana had a son with Mandodari and named him Meghanada. This is when things began to get a little unpleasant. Reporter: What happened after Ravana had the new son to make things worse? Feedback Thoughts

Why it's so Hard to Hear Negative Feedback Hearing negative feedback in general is a pretty tough pill to swallow sometimes. We might not agree with a person's interpretation on how they view our thoughts. In order for us to overcome this obstacle, we cannot look at this feedback as harsh criticism, but as someone trying to improve our work and make our work better. In the end, they are just trying to help us and lead us in the right direction. The sooner we realize that, the easier it will be to take negative feedback. Silence the Critical Voices in your Head This is a big reason many people are afraid of failure. There are constantly voices in our heads telling us that we are going to mess up or someone is not going to like our work. We try too hard to please other when we should just disregard what other people think and just perform to the best of our abilities. Once we are able to control the negative voices in our head, we will be able to enhance our abilities and be mor

Gods and Goddesses in Indian Epics This storybook looked interesting because I would like to learn more about this topic. I also find it intriguing because there are many stories that go along with the gods and goddesses.  The Epics of Food I am a Health and Exercise Science major so this topic interested me because I would enjoy exploring the different diets. The different backgrounds and stories that go along with the different foods can be very interesting and I would enjoy looking further into them. Voldemort's Reincarnation This storybook looked interesting because I am a big Harry Potter fan and I would enjoy reading a little spin off of a series that I have already previously loved for years now. Epic Cooking I enjoy reading about food so this one obviously caught my eye. I would enjoy reading about the different recipes in these stories and how the stories use the different foods throughout these storybooks.  Voldemort

Week 2 Story: The Heron and the Fish

Image
THE BLUE HERON AND THE FISH Once upon a time, while Brahmadatta was king of Benares, the Bodhisatta came to life at the foot of a great pond as a Fish. He grew strong and healthy and lived in a very big pond with plentiful marine life. At that time there was a Heron living near the pond. The Heron's mate saw the wonderful meal before her which happened to be the fish, and she conceived a longing for his heart to eat. So she said to her lover, "Honey, I want nothing more but to feast on the heart of that fish!" "My dear," said the Crocodile, "I live on the land and he lives in the water: how do you see I go about catching him?" "I do not care how you go about it," she replied, "I just want him to eat if it is the last thing you do." "Okay I will do this for you if it makes you happy," answered the Crocodile, consoling her, "don't worry, I have a plan and I will get you his heart." So when the Bodhisatta was

The Crocodile and the Monkey's Heart I really enjoyed this story because it was about two characters trying to outsmart each other. It was short and quick and had a pretty interesting storyline for how short it was. Main Characters: Crocodile- was out to please his wife by bringing her the monkey's heart to eat Monkey- wanted to cross the Ganges by the help of the crocodile Main Point of the Story: Both the crocodile and the monkey were after something but the crocodile wanted the monkey's heart. The monkey obviously could not give this to him so the monkey had to out smart the crocodile. The monkey out smarted the crocodile in the end and got across the Ganges safely. This choice interested me because it says it is made up of hundreds of short stories and I find short little versions of things a lot more exciting to read. It also sounds like the most up to date version which is enticing.  Parashurama This interested me because this story sounds like a very intense and violent journey which is very intriguing.  Shiva Parvati This story interested me because I always enjoy a good story about a couple fighting together and staying on task to finish their quest even with all the obstacles that are encountered. Harry Potter Meets Hindu Mythology This stuck out to me because I am a big Harry Potter fan and this sounded interesting.  Foods For Gods I found this appealing because I am a Health and Exercise Science major so the diets of gods sounded interesting to me. Krishna and Balarama Fight Kamsa's Wrestlers This picture was interesting because I have always thought sumo wrestling is interesting.
